Children's Museum

A 20 minute walk from our apartment is a mall, and one section is a rather large children's museum.  We tried it out on Friday.  It was your typical children's museum, with lots of hands on stuff and activities for different age levels.  I encouraged the older kids to explore on their own a bit, but they noticed some employees giving instructions at places and were afraid of the language barrier and wanted to all stick together.  I guess they think I point better and make better stupid-looking, I-don't-understand faces.  So we stuck together, which means that at some activities the older kids were quickly bored while Dallin and Paul were having a blast, and vice versa.  But overall we had a great time

After 4 hours I decided it was time to head home.  That's when we discovered.... The Art Room.  They begged to be able to do a craft, and I wanted to make sure and get my money's worth (since it wasn't particularly a cheap children's museum).  So they each did a painting.  Which would have been perfect at the very beginning of our play time.  But since it was at the end, our parade home included children holding large, wet paintings in front of them as they dried.  Dallin ended up with green hair.

This is about the only time I've ever seen Colby enjoy shopping.

Paul particularly liked the loud "stacking and crashing toys."

 "Chicken McNuggets, please!"

"Nope, you get a hamburger."

Yes, folks, that's a giant toilet they're playing in.  And after the picture they head down the drain slide.

I think Dallin could have stayed at this station for hours.

Colby and Sienna enjoyed playing with other kids in the mini soccer field.  Dallin cried every time the ball was taken away.

Ashley was a pretty cute announcer.

 Our little Picasso.
