Off With the Hair!

Before...After...
I'm pretty happy with it. Although we'll see how I like having bangs. I swore I'd never do it again. Yet here I am, doing it again!

Run, Bryan, Run!

This weekend was the Country Music Marathon and 1/2 Marathon, where 30,000 runners and 100,000 spectators swarm downtown Nashville. Bryan ran in the 1/2 marathon and finished in 1 hour 35 minutes. He was 338th place. Not bad, considering around 21,000 people finished the 1/2 marathon! Way to go Bryan!

I wanted to go downtown to see all the festivities. But on Friday night Sienna started getting sick with a cough, sore throat, headache, and eventually she threw up. So I decided to stay home with the kids. She even ruined a date night we had planned for Saturday night. She's fine now, except for a lingering cough.

After Bryan got home from his race I rushed out the door to go to a Stake Relief Society Enrichment Meeting. When I came home I found the tent set up in the family room! Bryan really wanted to rest after his race, but the kids really wanted to play with him. So they compromised. They were "Princess Camping".

Pooh Car

Colby's favorite outdoor toy is his "Pooh Car". He can zoom around on it like nothing else. He's really too big for it, and his knees almost scrape the ground as he goes. Notice how his toes drag with every push?

You might be wondering what that does to his shoes. See for yourself:

These are his main Pooh-car-riding-shoes. They are really falling apart, but I don't want him to ruin his other shoes, so I make him continue to wear these ones. It really is time to get him a new trike.

Homemade Hand-me-downs

My sister, Kerilee, made this cute little outfit, and my mom the cute little booties, both for Sienna. Ashley got a lot of compliments on them.

Here's Sienna wearing it at 5 months old.

Driveway Races

This is what Bryan and the kids have been doing lately when the weather has been nice.

I only agreed to let him take Ashley with him after he assured me it was safe. That was before I saw the following video, which was taken earlier when Ashley and I were still inside.

Yikes!

Half-Successful Photo Shoot

Last Thursday we took the kids to Sears for their birthday photos. Sienna was a piece of cake, smiling on cue... she was done in about 5 minutes.

Colby was a whole different story. He woke up from his nap right before, and was very hot and feverish. So he was miserable and uncooperative. At best we could get him to sit still on the rock he was supposed to be sitting on, and he would quietly murmur, "nope," every time we asked him to smile or say cheese. Mostly he just wanted to lay on Mom's shoulder. We decided to try again when we bring Ashley back for her 3 month shots. Of course, after we left the building, I told Colby to say, "cheese," and he gives me a big grin and a loud "cheese!". He was completely happy the rest of the night. Aarrgh! As it turns out he does have some weird sort of illness, with a come and go fever. He's pretty miserable at night and after his nap, but the rest of the day he's fine.
Ashley also woke up right before so she was hungry and also uncooperative. But after we finished and while we were looking at the pictures on their computer, I fed her, so we went back for another round and got some better shots.
For better or worse, here are all the pictures.

March News

View pictures and videos from March!!

We were blessed to have Kristen’s mom and Bryan’s mom come to stay for almost 2 weeks each to help out after the arrival of Ashley. They were definitely a big help and much appreciated. Royce’s voice went hoarse from reading so many stories to Sienna and Colby, and Anna Clare’s fingers were cramped after the last minute push to finish a beautiful quilt for Ashley. We all loved having them here.

Kim and Craig and family came for Ashley’s blessing, Easter, Sienna’s 4th birthday, and to visit Grandma. We loved having them here. Sienna continues to talk about their visit. Sienna had the ultimate birthday. Not only did she have a flower cake and ice cream, gifts, etc., she had an Easter egg hunt, lots of candy, and Laila, Jeff, & Grandma to play with her the whole day. We continued our tradition of having Craig help us with a home improvement project. This time it involved Craig holding a garbage can on top of our lower roof while Bryan stood on it and drilled in a loose piece of siding. We’re sad that Craig and Kim will most likely be moving farther away. How will we get any home improvement projects done?

Colby also had a birthday (2nd) this month. Bryan was out of town on the actual date so we celebrated two days later. After going through the “spanking machine,” he kept saying, “more tunnel!” He had a choo-choo birthday cake, and got a grocery cart that he likes to fill up and push around the house, and a soccer uniform from Spain. We all wore soccer uniforms for the big occasion. Bryan’s established a tradition of bringing home a soccer shirt for Colby after visiting different countries for work. Colby also has shirts from Brazil and Argentina.

Bryan had a nice trip to Malaga, Spain. He arrived a Monday, went mountain biking with some friends Tuesday and Wednesday, explored Malaga (birthplace of Picasso on the Mediterranean) on Thursday, and attended an HIV conference on Friday and Saturday. He even got to go through daylight savings time again, and traveled from 10 pm (4 am in Malaga) to 7 pm the next day on his return.

We should probably say something about Ashley. She continues to cry, sleep, cry, eat, cry, poop, cry, spit, and cry. We’re patiently waiting for a good smile. J And Kristen’s patiently waiting for more sleep.
