Little House on the Prairie

Last night I went on a three generation Girls Night Out with my mom and Sienna to see this Broadway show:

First of all, if you live in Nashville or somewhere where this production will be playing, you should see it. Maybe it's just because I'm a Little House fan, but I thought it was great. I remember reading the "Little House on the Prairie" series as a girl on the bus ride home from Elementary School. And over the last several months I've been reading the series to Sienna. We're on Book #7 of 9, and we both love it. So when I heard the musical was coming to Nashville I bought tickets. Then when I learned my Mom would be in town, we got another one.

I wondered how my 5 year old would do, with a 7:30 start time on a school night. She did great! She stayed awake and attentive the whole time, although leaning quite a bit against me during the last half. And I think because she already knew the story, she wasn't asking a million questions, like she does when watching a movie. I think she really enjoyed it. Of course by the time we left the parking lot she was zonked out. I hope that it will be a fond early memory for her. Even if it's not, it's a wonderful memory for me.
