Spring Break
For Spring Break we usually stick around town, but this year we went to Mesa, AZ. One of the highlights for the kids was going in the airplane, since it had been 4 years since we flew with any of them. Bryan met us there, so I was on my own. The three older kids sat on one side and did great. Dallin was a lap child, on my ever decreasing lap. He did as well as expected, but I was glad when the four hour flight was over! The way back wasn't as exciting, and since it left early in the morning Colby and Ashley slept half the time.
Dallin got attached to three toy cars form the Cars movie throughout the trip and would hardly let go of them.
The day after we arrived we borrowed some camping stuff from cousins and made a two day trip up to the Grand Canyon. It was freezing! And it was beautiful.
In contrast, a few days later with did a desert hike closer to Grandma's house. We started late and didn't bring enough water. Too hot!
Any activity was a favorite with the kids if it involved cousins, like the Easter Egg hunt in Grandma's backyard. And the putting green was a big hit with the boys, little and big.
Trying out the bikes.
We visited a nearby ghost town, took a train ride and watched a mock gunfight. The kids liked seeing the tall cacti.
The Phoenix Zoo was a hit, especially since it was with cousins.
Of course we took too many pictures to post, but had a great time. Thanks for hosting Grandma!

Colby turned 6
'Tis the season for birthdays around here. Colby requested a robot cake for his birthday.
Sienna thought he might like one as a present also. He did.
His favorite gift was his first real Lego set with Batman and Joker and their aircraft. When given the choice of what he wanted to do on his birthday (e.g. playdate, movie night, family games, etc.) he just wanted to play with his Legos. (Good shopping, Dad!)

Baptism Day
Sienna's 8th birthday was followed by her Baptism and Confirmation. Bryan performed the ordinances. It was a special day that I hope she will remember for a long time. We're grateful for the friends that were there to support her decision. Here are a few pictures from the event.

Sienna's Lucky Day
Sienna turned 8 on Mar 22, and she celebrated her birthday with friends on St. Patrick's Day. The festivities included a craft,
games like "Leprechaun's Gold",
measuring Sienna on our growth chart wall, the spanking machine,
lots of craft-type presents (Sienna's friends know what she likes),
a stampeding treasure hunt to find the Pot of Gold (of party favors, hidden in the oven),
and of course cake and ice cream and other rainbow/green food.
It was a great day for Sienna. One of her presents from us was an excursion with Mom to see the Broadway Musical of "Mary Poppins" at the downtown theatre. She was very excited about it and loved the show, even though it started at her normal bedtime and she was quite tired.
Happy Birthday Sienna!
